est\u00e1 indicada para prevenir enfermedad neumoc\u00f3cica causada por los serotipos de neumococo incluidos en la vacuna.<sup>1<\/sup><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"   mhh-mcn-v1-paragraph mhh-mcn-v1-paragraph--d3d16cfb15d3b0c954e9e0c94e9164d4\" dir=\"ltr\" lang=\"en-US\">La vacuna consiste en una mezcla de polisac\u00e1ridos capsulares altamente purificados provenientes de los 23 tipos de neumococos m\u00e1s prevalentes o invasivos del Streptococcus pneumoniae, incluyendo los seis serotipos que con mayor frecuencia causan infecciones neumoc\u00f3cicas invasivas resistentes a los medicamentos en ni\u00f1os y adultos.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"   mhh-mcn-v1-paragraph mhh-mcn-v1-paragraph--9c13909a8dd4f9f31d7dbe64091e798e\" dir=\"ltr\" lang=\"en-US\"><strong>PNEUMOVAX 23<\/strong> cubre al menos el<strong> 90% <\/strong>de los aislamientos neumoc\u00f3cicos en sangre y al menos <strong>85%<\/strong> de todos los aislamientos de neumococo provenientes de sitios generalmente
