Contraindicaciones<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Hipersensibilidad a cualquiera de los componentes de la f\u00f3rmula. En caso de que ocurriera una reacci\u00f3n anafil\u00e1ctica aguda ocasionada por cualquier componente de la vacuna, debe aplicarse de inmediato una inyecci\u00f3n de epinefrina (1:1000).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Precauciones<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Si se aplica la vacuna a personas que est\u00e1n recibiendo tratamiento inmunosupresor, es posible que no se obtenga la respuesta inmunol\u00f3gica esperada y pueden disminuir las respuestas futuras a los ant\u00edgenos neumoc\u00f3cicos. La administraci\u00f3n intrad\u00e9rmica puede causar reacciones locales intensas. Se debe tener precauci\u00f3n al administrar PNEUMOVAX 23 a personas con trastornos importantes de la funci\u00f3n cardiovascular y\/o pulmonar. Cualquier enfermedad respiratoria febril o infecci\u00f3n activa es raz\u00f3n suficiente para posponer la aplicaci\u00f3n de PNEUMOVAX 23, excepto cuando en opini\u00f3n del m\u00e9dico ese retardo implique un riesgo a\u00fan mayor. En los pacientes que necesitan profilaxis con penicilina u otro antibi\u00f3tico contra la infecci\u00f3n neumoc\u00f3cica, no se debe interrumpir la profilaxis tras la vacunaci\u00f3n con PNEUMOVAX 23.
Como ocurre con cualquier vacuna, la vacunaci\u00f3n con PNEUMOVAX 23 pudiera no conferir protecci\u00f3n completa.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Embarazo<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Se desconoce si PNEUMOVAX 23 pudiera causar da\u00f1o fetal cuando se administra a una mujer embarazada, o si la vacuna pudiera afectar la capacidad reproductiva. PNEUMOVAX 23 debe ser administrado a mujeres embarazadas s\u00f3lo si es claramente necesario.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Reacciones adversas<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

En los estudios cl\u00ednicos y\/o en la experiencia posterior a la comercializaci\u00f3n, se han reportado las siguientes experiencias adversas: reacciones en la zona de inyecci\u00f3n, las cuales consisten en dolor, irritaci\u00f3n, eritema, calor, hinchaz\u00f3n, endurecimiento local, movilidad reducida en las extremidades y edema perif\u00e9rico en la extremidad inyectada. Pocas veces se reportaron reacciones d\u00e9rmicas similares a la celulitis. Las reacciones locales pueden estar acompa\u00f1adas de signos y s\u00edntomas sist\u00e9micos, incluyendo fiebre, leucocitosis y un aumento en el valor de laboratorio para la prote\u00edna C reactiva del suero. Las experiencias adversas m\u00e1s comunes reportadas en los estudios cl\u00ednicos fueron fiebre (38.8 \u00baC\/102 \u00baF), reacciones en la zona de inyecci\u00f3n, incluyendo dolor, eritema, calor, hinchaz\u00f3n y endurecimiento local.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
