Sobre el VPH

El virus del papiloma humano (VPH) puede tener consecuencias potencialmente graves en los hombres y mujeres.2

La infección por VPH puede causar verrugas o lesiones benignas, y la infección persistente por un subconjunto de VPH puede provocar ciertos cánceres. Se han identificado más de 200 tipos de VPH; de estos, más de 40 tipos infectan la piel ano-genital y las mucosas.3,4,6

Para la mayoría de las personas, el VPH desaparece por sí solo. Para aquellos que no eliminan el virus, podría causar ciertos cánceres y enfermedades, más adelante en la
vida.2
